Thanks to all those who came out Friday, November 19th, 2010 at the Vintage Bistro in Hampton, New Brunswick. It was a great evening starting at 6:00 pm with 17 of my paintings displayed on two different levels. Thanks to Carol Anne and Gary for all the hospitality, the organization of the event, and of course the wine! The acrylic painting "Stratified #2" was sold along with a framed limited edition print of "The River's Edge". Twelve of the paintings will remain on display until sold and replaced by others. Prior to watching a wonderful concert by Blackie and the Rodeo Kings founding member Stephen Fearing we all sat down for a great meal. Overall, I had a great time discussing the paintings with a new group of interesting people.

Welcome to my Studio
There are many sources available that describe and teach art techniques in all of the artistic medias. Rather than repeat information that is readily available, it is my intention to present topics that I feel are equal to or more important than the ability to develop good painting techniques. Instead, I would like to discuss other aspects important to a developing painter such as composition principles, painting from nature toward abstraction, painting from abstraction toward nature, and I may throw in some mixed media technique discussions. I hope you will participate in the discussions by posting your comments. Thanks for dropping by.
